Zumba and Yoga Master Class for CANSA 2020
On the 13th of August 2020, still during level 2 lockdown, the team heard the calling of CANSA SA in need of funding. Cancer has always been a soft spot for the members, as many of them have lost loved ones through this and know of loved ones who is currently battling this dreaded disease. Having this disease on its own is a heartbreaking and traumatic experience. Without the necessary treatment, family and friend support and provisions to cater for this disease; it will be even more detrimental to deal with for the patient.
Hence, we felt a great need to try and assist #CANSA to raise funds, so that they can continue with their good work of helping those with Cancer and to take away some of their burdens; such as transportation, temporary housing for those that live far away, medication, food and the much needed research that they do. While most people have the family support, many do not. They battle this sickness alone. That’s why #CANSA is so important in the lives of those living with cancer. For those that cannot support themselves; #CANSA is their hope, lifeline and strength to get through, maybe their biggest hurdle in life.
With less than 2 weeks to plan and prepare, the #SBF team was on a mission to get people to join the new norm, of hosting online events due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic.
#SevaBhaktiFoundation and their telecommunications and IT partner #Telesacomms, embarked to take on the challenge and try to raise enough funds in a short period while having fun bringing people aboard.
